Our mission

Inspire, encourage and equip the next generation of

Christian leaders to pour themselves out for others

What We Do

ServeHere identifies extraordinary rising junior and senior college students who want to use their gifts to make a kingdom impact, while engaging in a world-class workplace and ministry experience.  Students accepted into the program are mature and passionate Christ followers who want to explore how their life, and their careers, can answer a higher calling.

The summer program consists primarily of these two elements:

  • Qualified students are placed into meaningful internships with local faith-based non-profits, enabling students to gain valuable workplace experience while contributing to the mission of the non-profit. The internships are carefully designed to give students a chance to make a real impact, while honing their skills and working with dynamic leaders inside the non-profit organization.
  • Outside of the daily activities of the internship, students meet as a small cohort with a marketplace mentor who is a Christian executive with a heart for missional living and entrepreneurship.  They follow a curriculum developed to: prepare the students for success in their internships; expose them to a series of inspiring, missions-minded leaders; engage with like-minded students; and receive one-on-one coaching from their mentor.

Our Fall and Spring semester programs are slightly modified to accommodate the smaller program size and reduced number of hours  students can commit during the school year.

Leadership

Iesha Boitmann - Program Director

Iesha Boitmann

Iesha is a born leader, a UT alumna, and is passionate about discipling and mentoring college students and helping non-profits grow. She discovered her passion for discipleship as the recipient of several ServeHere interns over the years she ran operations for Makarios, an international non-profit headquartered in Austin. Iesha brings a rare perspective from her experiences as a first generation college student, a world traveler, and a bent towards living radically for Jesus. She believes her success and her mistakes serve her well in relating to college students navigating the narrow road. Iesha and her husband Brian attend The Church at East, and together, are heavily involved in planting Generosity Dinners around the city, and around the world, so that more people gather together for the purpose of blessing others.

Dave Panos - Executive Director and Founder
